After a rainy Spring in New England Summer finally arrived just in time for the 4th of July.
We had the great pleasure of enjoying the long weekend on the Ocean in Massachusetts in the quintessential beach house we all wish we had.
While there I came across this great book – Beach Houses, by Jim Hemp.
Inside, I found this headboard – such a great way to use a drapery rod. And wouldn’t this be a great place to hang a vintage quilt?
I also found this copper rod system, just so simplistic. It would look great in any kind of relaxed environment whether at the Ocean or in the Mountains. This could also be used as a room divider when lots of company are on hand and privacy might be at a minimum. And what an interesting architectural design element, when the drapes are not drawn, to have the copper rodding mounted on the ceiling.
Unfortunately, right now in New England we are experiencing Fall-like weather in July, but let’s hope Summer comes back in a big way for August and we can all enjoy some more time at the Beach.
